My summer holiday

Hello everyone. Sorry we have been away for a while but we were on holiday! We went to stay in the countryside near the sea in Dorset, which is on the south coast. We stayed in a lovely cottage on a farm and did lots of fun things! When we first arrived I was so happy I started dancing! Here are all the photos from our trip- we hope you enjoy them.

Corfe Castle

On the last day of the holiday we visited Corfe Castle, a very pretty village with its own castle!

The Swanage Railway

After wandering around Corfe we went to visit the steam railway. I loved watching the train arrive and had even more fun on board! Can you spot us waiting for the train on the platform?

Swanage

At the other end of the line was Swanage- a pretty seaside town. By the time we got there it was lovely and sunny again so we headed straight for the beach (and then the ice cream shop!)

Feet

I love to eat my sister's feet!

A meal at the George

Mu could not be bothered to cook dinner on Thursday night so we had a nice stroll through the fields to the local pub, The George, and had dinner there instead. It was yummy. In the photos the yellowish buildings are the farm we stayed on.

Abbotsbury Swannery

On the Thursday morning we decided to visit the Abbotsbury Swannery. It is a nature reserve where lots of swans like to live (and some Canada geese too!). I really liked seeing all the baby swans and when one hissed at me I hissed right back at him! At 12 'o' clock the swans were fed- and I got to help out!

The Hive beach

After visiting the swannery we stopped for lunch at a beach cafe- and then walked off our lunch on the becah. The cliffs were really interesting with lots of weird formations to look at.

Lyme Regis

On the Wednesday of our holiday we went to visit Lyme Regis, which is a very pretty little harbour town. We got to see a very special children's bookshop called Chimp and Zee, and lots of different other shops and galleries. We also bought a bucket and spade for the beach!

Lyme Regis beach

After exploring the town we got to go on the beach as it was a really sunny day. I loved playing in the water and using my bucket to bring water back to a hole Dad and I had dug in the sand. After we were finished on the beach we all got to eat an icecream- even Ava tried a little bit of Mum's- yummy!

Weymouth

On the Tuesday of our holiday we visited Weymouth, a local seaside town. The weather was not great but we still had fun. We got to see a Punch and Judy show, which is an old fashioned British puppet show, and explore the harbour and of course the beach!

Our cottage

On our holiday we stayed in a lovely cottage on a farm. It was very peaceful and pretty. The best part was the back garden and the view of the hills. I loved playing out there
